Rechler Equity Partners is a commercial real estate owner and developer based on South Service Road in Plainview, led by cousins Mitchell and Gregg Rechler. Its roots go back to the 1960s, when Donald and Roger Rechler founded Reckson Associates and helped pioneer the industrial park on Long Island. When Reckson restructured in 2003, the family formed Rechler Equity Partners and acquired Reckson’s Long Island industrial portfolio of about 5.9 million square feet. The company provides leasing, property management, construction, and development services, and it lists available office and industrial space in Hauppauge, Islandia, Bohemia, Farmingdale, Patchogue, Medford, and Westhampton Beach. Recent projects include the Rechler Business District at Medford, the Hampton Business District in Westhampton, and Greybarn, a residential community in Amityville. For businesses, it is a direct source of flex, industrial, and office space across central and eastern Long Island, especially for companies that need warehouse or light manufacturing room.
