Suffolk Credit Union

Suffolk Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative headquartered on Horseblock Road in Medford. Chartered in 1967, it has grown to more than $1.5 billion in assets and 10 branches, with locations from West Babylon and Islandia to Riverhead and Southampton. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, or regularly does business in Nassau or Suffolk County. Alongside personal checking, savings, and mortgages, the credit union offers business banking services, including business checking, which makes it an option for local owners who want to keep both their personal and company accounts with a Long Island institution. Because it is member-owned, earnings go back to members through lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and reduced fees rather than to outside shareholders.
